Nur Privacy Policy

The short version: Nur runs on your device. Your reading streaks, app budgets, and alarm settings are stored locally on your phone, not on our servers. Nur does not require an account to use, does not sell your data, and does not use advertising trackers.
What stays on your device
- Your daily app time budgets and which apps you've chosen to pause
- Your Qur'an reading streak, pages read, and progress history
- Your surah-specific alarm schedule
- Your app preferences (theme, notification settings, and similar)
All of the above is stored in the app's local database on your phone. Uninstalling Nur, or clearing its app storage from your device settings, deletes it.
Permissions Nur asks for, and why

| Alarms & reminders | To wake your device at the exact time for a surah alarm, even if Nur isn't open. |
| Display over other apps | To show the Qur'an pause screen on top of the app you're using once you pass your daily budget for it. |
None of these permissions are used to read, log, or transmit the content of other apps — Nur only needs to know that a budgeted app is open, so it can show the pause screen at the right moment.
No ad tracking
Nur does not run advertising SDKs and does not sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers. If we ever add optional, anonymous crash reporting or product analytics to improve the app, we will disclose it here first and it will never include the content of your reading or the apps you've chosen to budget.
Children's privacy
Nur is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
